Yes, that's snow outside. We love the cabin in the winter for sledding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and sitting in the hot sauna. This room now has a queen size bed. It is across from the bathroom on the main floor.

Great views of the mountains. You'll see elk, deer and moose if your lucky. The sofa in the corner can also be made into a double bed.

Things are moving along great- I guess things are a bit behind according to the parents but wow- it looks great - Here are some updates

This is the down under - which is now basically empty (thanks to Kamas Storage units) - now they can put in heating and new windows- also notice the half cut door way under all the windows- so there will actually be a door to access all the under the cabin stuff instead of the deer accessing all the under the cabin stuff

The outside- notice the beautiful cranberry red new windows- no more bullet hole in the upstairs window!

A couple first and lasts today- Tyler riding his bike in the cabin and Toby being allowed in the cabin!
Tyler got to throw rocks in the river - notice the cabin in the background
This is outside of the cabin- the bathroom window- now it is covered by the stairs going up and the stairs going down
Tyler loved the lifter- He drove it for about 20 minutes- I had to stand on the front part so he could pretend to lift me and move me around.
Ella stayed wrapped up warm all day- she was great

Cabin Progress July 31 2008

Mom and Dad were so kind to take Rob and I for a drive up to the cabin. It was so great to see the progress being made. It is exciting to see what a great mountain home Heartland will be.

The work begins and continues....

First, every furnishing and decoration was
removed from inside and out of the cabin.
Dad's 4-runner towed Uncle Paul's trailer to Kamas and back several times.
We still need a picture of the "Princess and the Pea" stack of mattress--over 10' high.

Then demolition...

I've heard Mom repeat over and over again while she works, "This is going to be a nice place." In other words-- no more bugs, mice, junky storage, etc... just good clean fun.

Then excavation, and footings.
